ArchLinux + SMP + X64 + Flash
Thursday, May 29, 2008 13:35So allot of you are experiencing problems with flash and x64 architecture (I suppose you have installed flash for the x64 system following the official Arch wiki: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Install_Flash_on_Arch64 ).
But yet even if everything went fine during the installation you experience problems such as the player dissapears after visiting flash enabled sites, or various crash messages in your dmesg queue.
I had to look around only to realise that the default nspluginwrapper package has a bug with SMP enabled kernels. So if you are using such a kernel and you are experiencing problems with flash player, please proceed uninstalling the installed nspluginwrapper and install the nspluginwrapper-ubuntu package:
pacman -Rs nspluginwrapper pacman -S nspluginwrapper-ubuntu
